Digital media workshop a success

A digital media workshop was recently held for Kenneth Gardens residents participating in the Youth Media Initiative. Run by Niall McNulty and Thula Zungu, the workshop focused on oral history methodology, digital media skills and online publishing. Participants had a chance to use digital media equipment and run practice interviews.

Turquoise Harmony Institute

In partnership with UKZN, Ethekwini Municipality and Star College in Durban, THI has coordinated a project to award underprivileged students living in Kenneth Gardens with scholarships to pursue their studies at Star College. The UKZN Community Development Department’s Kenneth Gardens Outreach Project, in partnership with DUT, has now been running for over one year. The project has many components including Primary Health Care, Nutrition, Education, Sports and Arts.
